Them: Covid is a nothing. It doesn't even affect kids

Me: Repeat covid infections will cause worsening lung damage and further immune damage and make people vulnerable to conditions like pneumonia

Them: Why won't the government do anything about the mystery virus that's causing pneumonia in kids?

THIS IS HUGE! Researchers at Harvard Medical School have developed a nasal spray that in preclinical studies, offered NEARLY 100% protection from respiratory infections by COVID-19, influenza, viruses, AND pneumonia-causing bacteria. Let’s talk about that! 🧪🧵⬇️

Kyle Busch dying of septic pneumonia at 41 is terrifying, especially when studies from every major academic or research body in the country have confirmed that COVID-19 is causing a rise in it because even an asymptomatic infection is destroying the immune system enough to cause this.

"Among infected children, one in 20 will develop pneumonia (the most common way measles kills young kids), one in 1,000 will develop encephalitis (inflammation of the brain, sometimes causing permanent brain damage) and one to three in 1,000 will die."

Bless you all for your thoughts and well wishes and support.

And this virus is still causing damage we don’t immediately understand- opportunistic illnesses are spiking like crazy right now because so many people with damaged immune systems from COVID infections are getting pneumonia and mycoplasma infections way more easily years later

Trust me, even if a child survives TB....it's a lifetime of lung problems ahead. The scars it leaves in the lungs will not allow the patient to expel phlegm without help. Causing constant bouts of pneumonia. It's hell!!!

Also many strokes over 10 years each causing more disability.

And she started smoking at the advice of her doctor, ‘to keep the weight off’ during pregnancy.

So yeah.

I guess when you don't try to capture the right numbers, like CV sequelae and longCOVID cases, then it's easy to drop your efforts to contain a thing that is no longer causing such large epidemic waves if pneumonia, which is all you think of it as causing? 🤷

As someone who has spent a couple winters inside the Texas prison system, I can confirm no prison in this state has central air or heat.

People died of heat stroke in the summer and got pneumonia in the winter, causing issues. One even died from cold.

Texas never left the chain gang style.
