And yet Rosalita, clocking in at 7 minutes is still my all time fave of his.

Taking nothing away from Jungleland, of course. The opening of Jungleland is one of the prettiest song intros in recorded history and when it cuts to the Professor on the piano?

Sonic poetry.

I have a poetry video coming up on my YouTube channel in the next week or so of a poem I never actually recorded when I originally wrote it which is (a) kinda perfect for this moment and (b) I've finally nailed how to hit the last line properly. I'm pretty psyched for it.

On this day in 1967, Love released ‘Forever Changes,’ their psychedelic masterpiece. Arthur Lee blended gorgeous melodies, orchestral arrangements and dark poetry into a timeless classic. Discover 5 wild facts: zurl.co/OwXNu
5 Surprising Facts You Didn’t Know About Love’s 'Forever Changes' - That Eric Alper
Forever Changes, the 1967 masterpiece from Los Angeles band Love, barely made a dent on the charts when it was first released, but decades later, it’s widely considered one of the greatest albums ever recorded. A swirling mix of folk, baroque pop, and psychedelia, Forever Changes is both hauntingly beautiful and deeply unsettling, capturing the […]

My mom recorded it so when I get it on YouTube I'll shoot it over. It's nothing too special if you've read Poe's essay on poetry.

In 1860, Édouard-Léon Scott recorded himself reading Italian poetry. He swapped two words, then corrected the mistake on paper. That tiny slip helped researchers identify his voice 150 years later. 🎙️

Sometimes history keeps the outtakes.

I have been watching One Foot in the Grave, and my assumption that Dale Winton reading Kubla Khan was just a silly thing recorded for it, turns out it wasn't... 🤣

So guess who splashed out on a second hand CD.

Luke Spiller wrote "When I Die Will I Miss Living" as a poem after reading Billy Collins. Then someone from Chicago Med heard him sing it live and asked for a recording. An unusual route from Devon to prime-time TV. zurl.co/FOgfV
The Struts' Luke Spiller Turns A Poem Into "When I Die Will I Miss Living" - That Eric Alper
Luke Spiller has spent years making audiences feel invincible with The Struts, but his solo single “When I Die Will I Miss Living” asks a question that even the biggest rock anthem can’t answer. Inspired by a Billy Collins poetry collection, written during a winter visit to his parents in Devon, and eventually recorded because […]

The Struts’ Luke Spiller traded arena-sized glam rock for a question that fits in one line: "When I Die Will I Miss Living." His new solo song began at his parents’ home in Devon and found its way onto Chicago Med. zurl.co/zAWmS

This is gonna be exceptionally un-fun for me, the camera-shy privacy geek who loathes surveillance and won't even do panels now because they're often recorded/posted. Like the risk of being accused of using GenAI in my prose poetry; my two great ethical bugbears turned towards me.
