The changes to #Policy713 announced today are focused on supporting every student. Kudos to the Premier/EECD for listening to the voices of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Changes also account for questions of capacity as noted in the CaYA report. Well done!

Forced to acknowledge what was brought to light in my recent RTI request, Higgs has admitted to the Telegraph Journal that a sole concern from one education worker prompted initial interest in #Policy713, not "hundreds of emails" as was stated repeatedly in the legislature & public.

One thing is becoming clear reading the #Policy713 emails. Those opposed to what they see as the "2SLGBTQ+ cult," "gender ideology," "sexualizing kids," and "trans indoctrination" centre themselves in a fantasy where they are bullied, oppressed, and ostracized for their beliefs.

Success! The New Brunswick government has made important revisions to Policy 713 to revert it back to its original intention of assisting vulnerable students in their educational journey. Thank you to Premier Susan Holt and Education Minister, Clair Johnson. #policy713 🏳️‍⚧️

While no antecedent emails exist, Higgs’ statements did trigger hundreds of emails from now empowered extremists drawn to the reflection of their own hate, as well as stong opposition from parents, teachers, doctors, churches and the children who #Policy713 was created to protect.
