Wish she stayed in the House. We need Katie Porters. Going against Schiff was not a smart move and, quite frankly, weakened the House by losing her.

3/3 And don't forget "Pullman Porters & Maids: Invisible Labor, Visible Legacies," opening at Block House Gallery in Pullman on June 5th!
1/3 A very personal show for artist Shane-Jahi Jackson, & also one that speaks to so many of us with Porters in our families. My great grandfather listed Pullman as his employer in both the 1930 & 1940 censuses & I have done research in these very same archives at the Newberry seeking more info.

When you go to a tap house that has more porters on nitro than IPAs it’s immediately going to be in my good books

A breakthrough: The bell captain at my hotel, where, COVID aside, I’ve stayed annually for 15 years, recognized me as a regular.

And in book news, one of the porters is reading Henry Kissinger’s The White House Years.

This morning I joined the Deputy Mayor of Southend-on-Sea to raise the Pride flag at Porters Civic House, ahead of Southend Pride next weekend.

I hope the sight of the Pride flag flying over Porters will send a message to our local LGBTQ+ community that Southend Council stands with them.

Great result for @pcs.union.bsky.social, with the government insourcing 2,000 catering staff, security officers, cleaners and porters to improve working conditions and service delivery.

The government must extend this approach to other outsourced services that could be better run in-house.

Lent a mattock and ice shovel

Got a @portcitybrew.bsky.social 6 pack in return

Once I kick this head cold these bad boys are gonna fuel more ice clearing. Got my eye on the 1-house stretch of sidewalk ruining an otherwise clear shot up to Aldi and the Duke St buses 👀

All my neighbours had ordered goggles to my house before we had any other ppe at work. We had a bathtub full. Every day I’d lay them out and carry some up and distribute - to porters, nurses, anyone I would see in the hallways, filled with fear. The community pulled together when others failed us

🚤🌊RNLI FLAG PROUDLY FLYING OVER PORTERS CIVIC HOUSE🌊🚤

I'm delighted that the flag of the RNLI is proudly flying from the flagpole at Porters Civic House, to show Southend's support for the brave men and women who volunteer to save lives at sea.

#OnThisDay in 1807 it was cold enough in Southampton to freeze the flooded land behind The Beach, the riverside walk to the Cross House. The impromptu skating rink attracted many local people, including Jane Austen’s brother, Frank.

Natch. That’s why they all yell a greeting when you walk in. Some tele-porters don’t come thru to the Waffle House teleport station.
