The creepy house at the end of the long road has the best candy, kids. Happy Halloween! 🎃🧡🖤😁
A marker, ink, and paint pen cartoon of two kids dressed as a ghost and a witch, standing at the door of a dark house surrounded by trees. The witch is saying “Don’t be scared, they have the BEST candy!”. The ghost is clutching their pumpkin treat holder in both hands, and is looking wide-eyed at the witch, who is reaching for the door bell. On the porch, there is a pumpkin carved with a skull looking at the kids on the left, and the curtains in window above the pumpkin are being pulled back by a skeleton hand The door has a candle in a sconce instead of a door light. The house has a large 2-story window on the right, and inside is a huge silhouette with white glowing eyes, holding a huge bowl of candy. The upstairs window has a dark blobby creature with glowing green eyes looking out. There is a full moon with Ghost Vulture’s head in silhouette on the moon. Happy Halloween!

Okay. I had a very silly idea, and this is the result.

Hail Satin! Go vote, if you‘re in the U.S., and you haven’t already. ❤️🤍💙
A marker, ink, and paint pen cartoon in four panels. Panel 1: a looming silhouette of a horned figure with glowing orange eyes, in front of lightning in an orange and red sky and dark blue mountains. Text underneath says “Some people say signs and portents suggest that the ANTICHRIST walks the earth. Panel 2: an orange squid, shrugging, and the front part of a northern right whale with their fins spread, a question mark bubble over their head, both looking at the viewer questioningly. Text underneath says “He is described as “a beast from the sea* with ten horns and seven heads (Rev. 13:1-2)”. Underneath the squid, the starred text reads “*Biblical interpreters say ‘the sea’ is people. I say confused giant sea beasts are funnier.”. Panel 3: The looming silhouette from the first panel has their back to the viewer, looking out over a crowd of smiling people, holding signs that say “WE LOVE YOU” and “YAY!”. The figure has a pointed tail sticking up behind them. Text underneath says “‘…and power was given him over all […] nations […] and all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him” (Rev. 14:9-10).’ ALL shall worship him? Uh…”. Panel 4: The figure is revealed as a giant black cat is sitting loaf-style, one yellow-orange eye open, back to the crowd. The cat is sitting on a red carpeted dais above the crowd. The people are all now grinning and wearing fake cat ears. Signs in the crowd say “WE STILL LOVE YOU!”, and “PET ME O LORD!”. Text underneath says “…I think the Antichrist might be a cat. And Caturday shall be holy! ‘…like unto a leopard…’ (Rev. 13:2).”.

I’m trying to clear soil that’s been untouched for 10 years or so, to get wildflower seeds in, & then we have an event in 2 weeks, so I’m going to be in & out.

The art will continue until my morale improves. 🫠💜
A marker, graphite, and paint pen drawing of an orange tabby cat lying upside down, looking at the viewer. His eyes are yellow-green, he is smiling cat-style, and his front paws are curled in the air. His floofy tail is curled around his back, and he is oriented head left, tail right, with his back legs partially obscured. Background is blank, except for purple shadow underneath his body. He’s a real cat, I used a photo for reference. His name is Griffy, he lives with friends, and he’s a derpy love.

Contact info: Hillsides at midnight, howl for Cindy. 🦴😊💜
A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of a skeleton in a white translucent shift, standing on a dark hill under a full moon, with a scarf billowing above her in the wind. Her bones can be seen through the shift, her head is tilted left, the moon is top left in a sky of stars. The scarf is arched above her head by the wind, held by her outstretched arms, her shift tied to her body with gold cord. Inspired by a 19thC Art Nouveau illustration of spring.

A serious one. If you see this, please be polite in the comments. I don’t debate abortion. I don’t debate abuse.
A marker, ink, and paint pen 3/4 self-portrait with text on the right. I am standing with my arms crossed, wearing a black tank top and black leggings, my red hair loose down to my waist. I am pale pink skinned, with grey-blue eyes, and I’m making eye contact with the viewer. To the right, digitally inserted text reads: “Xtian Pastors are notorious for violence against women, yet Evangelicals cite “the sanctity of life” as a reason why women shouldn’t have body autonomy. They also scream “what about the children?!”, yet churches excuse Pastors abusing the children in their trust, and encourage laws preventing the autonomy of trans children. Body autonomy is a human right. Evangelical Xtianity is the REAL horror story this Halloween. (This was inspired by the trial of Caleb Flynn, and Trevor Poelman’s YouTube channel, Belief It or Not.)

I actually drew this yesterday, but I was sidetracked by making meringue cookies that ended up sticky and tasting terrible. 🤢

At least Bob likes them, they were a LOT of work. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Inspired by our vultures.
A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of a black vulture wearing a plague doctor mask and hat, facing right, wings slightly spread, looking with one eye at the viewer, smiling a little smile. Green lettering around the vulture (left, right, bottom) says “How do you like my costume? (It’s black!)”, and a little smiley face. The vulture is standing on a thin brown pole (or branch). The plague doctor mask is in profile, with gold glasses attached to the mask, tied at the back of their grey-brown head. The little black hat has a wide brim and a low square crown. The vulture’s wings are black on the outside, and grey to light grey at the bottom. Their legs are grey-brown, like their head, and their black tail is spread behind their legs (their tail feathers have flat tips, unlike their pointed wing feathers).

”Guys? Did everyone wear black AGAIN?!” 🤦🏻‍♀️

(Maleficent, The Wicked Witch of the West, Dread Pirate Roberts. I’m not seeing straight. 🧠
A very quick graphite sketch of three black vultures in Halloween costumes (just the headpieces), standing on a roof. From left to right, a vulture flying in to land, with Maleficent’s headdress, a vulture with their back to the viewer, wearing the hat of the Wicked Witch of the West, and a vulture turned sideways to the viewer, holding a sword (somehow) with their wing, wearing the mask and head covering of the Dread Pirate Roberts. Since black vultures are black, they’re not very creative with costumes! (Movies: Maleficent, The Wizard of Oz, The Princess Bride.)

I drew this last year for Halloween, but I have new pens, so I reworked it w/ a little more flair. 😊💜

Thanks to @quicoarts.bsky.social for the inspiration for the most awkward party ever. 😁💜💜💜
A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of Quico Vicens-Picatto’s monsters (a beholder and a carnivorous plant) at the Halloween party of my OC Ghost Hare (a ghost rabbit that looks like a flapjack octopus, and loves carrot-based cocktails). The carnivorous plant is purple with fangs and thorns all over their leaves, planted in a yellow pot, and holding a purple drink in a martini glass in one of their three biting flower arms, dipping a head petal into the drink (they have one yellow-orange eye with a vertical pupil in the center of their head flower). A Siamese cat with blue eyes is poking at one of the other flower arms on the left, while a tentacle from the base of the pot is reaching out to pet the cat. Other tentacles appear to be legs. The plant is glaring at a red beholder, whose eye tentacles are rolling their eyes and their polyps are all pulling away, while their center huge eye is looking sideways at the plant. Five eye stalks are looking at Ghost Hare, and two polyps are waving frantically to get GH’s attention. The plant has a speech bubble saying “And *then* she said… oh, I’m sorry, am I BORING you?!” to the beholder, who has a speech bubble saying “Huh? No, no! I just want, erm… a snack!”, while gesturing to the snack table. Above the snack table, Ghost Hare is floating, smiling, and holding a bright orange cocktail with a whole carrot in it. There are two tables with orange tablecloths, right and left; the right table has a bowl of chips and pink cupcakes, the left has a carved pumpkin, a skull, and a candle. One of The Watchers is behind the left table, carrying a green bowl of popcorn (I think). The back wall is dark brown, has a big black banner with “HAPPY HALLOWEEN!” written on it in orange. The carpet is a light green. Bottom right is written: “idea and carnivorous plant by Quico Vicens-Picatto, inspired by his beholder! :)”. Both plant and beholder are not nearly as elegant as his, but I (and the cat!) are having fun!

Spent most of the day working outside.🥵

This is done except for light clean up. I changed the title, & I may do some more bits to The Prophet’s side, I haven’t decided. 😊💜
A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing in two panels, designed as both sides of a bookmark, featuring three of my OCs. The Mouse Prophet is in the left panel, yawning with their mouse skull jaws wide open, holding a coffee mug that says “my other smiting mug”. The Prophet’s robe is green with blue and gold trim that is decorated with sentient, sleepy-looking eyes staring at the coffee mug. The mug has a bone stirrer. The Prophet has a halo in yellow, orange, and gold behind their head, and the background is blue. At the bottom, a white panel with gold edges says “Don’t Summon Me Before My Coffee!”. The right panel has The Watchers, gold-winged, mouse-eared, sentient hooded robes, stacked one above the other, the lower one facing right, the upper one facing left. Their robes are tan; where faces would be is nothing but darkness, but they both have gold hands (for holding stuff, of course!). The top Watcher is holding a blue spatterware coffee pot marked “Prophet’s coffee, Serve hot!”, the bottom Watcher is holding a fancy brown bottle marked “bone powder” on an orange label. Their wings are wrapped around them. The upper Watcher has a silver edged speech bubble, saying “Creamer?” and the lower Watcher has a gold edged speech bubble saying “I got it!!”. (The Watcher does not have the right creamer. The Prophet will have a grainy cup of black coffee. The Watcher will have a rough day. :))

I spent most of the day heaving up stickweed roots, & sowing the seeds along the road, but I fixed this old piece, & I’m happier w/ it. Space at base for poems.

(I like illustrating my poetry. 😊💜)
A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of an anthropomorphic mouse with golden yellow wings, holding a rainbow striped heart in their arms. They are sitting cross legged in a grass field, and there is a starry sky overhead. The mouse’s wings are curled protectively around their body and the heart; their arms are crossed around the heart so it is cradled against their body. Their eyes are closed, and their head is bent down, like they are meditating. Their fur is chestnut brown, with white fur on their chest and abdomen. Their tail is curled in front of them. There is a faint reflection of rainbow colours on the whisker above the rainbow heart. The wings around the mouse’s head are creating a halo of golden light, and the insides of the wings are warm red-orange. The night sky behind the mouse is full of stars, and the light is throwing a shadow of the wings onto the grass in front. The grass fills the lower half of the drawing, and there are little clusters of white flowers on either side. The clip of the clipboard I used to hold the paper is visible at the bottom. This drawing was originally done in 2020, and updated 10/21/26.

I’m going to be busy all day, so I’m posting an older piece I haven’t posted in a while. 😊💜

“The Night Library” (2020). It took me a month to come up with all the book titles, researching animal and cheese names.

Little bit more cheese. 🧀😁
The Night Library - an 8x10” marker, ink, and paint pen drawing from 2020. The drawing shows four bookshelves, with colourful books on each shelf with titles that are either cheese or rodent puns, like “The Brothers Capybara” or “A Brie History of Time”. The lowest shelf has a white mouse reaching up to the second shelf, where a white mouse and a grey mouse are playing on the books. To the left on the second shelf are two brown mice seated in a space between the books, holding tiny books, and smiling at each other. The third shelf from the bottom has one dark grey mouse reading, while a lighter grey mouse lying on the top shelf holds a lantern so the reading mouse can see. They are making eye contact with each other. On the third shelf up, there is also a curved wooden bookend in an abstract shape. On the top shelf is a glass vase, holding green leaves in water, and a neon pink, purple, and blue mouse profile lamp. My favourite title is top left, “The Gnawed of the Rings”, followed by “The Once and Future Mink”.

Submitted for your approval: A jumbled mess of skeleton cliches, at the top of a hill, enjoying a good windy night with a blood moon.

A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of a human skeleton with gold antlers, a wreath of leaves on their head, working magic while standing on a hill under a full blood moon. The wind is whipping a translucent white scarf around the skeleton, who is dressed in a toga-like cloth tied on one shoulder. The skeleton’s arms are spread, the one on the left working curls of magic, the right trailing the scarf over their fingers. Their eye sockets are glowing flourescent yellow, and a huge orange and yellow blood moon is top right, with a purple starry night sky. The wind is blowing leaves to the right.

Ghost Hare is still quite happy to search through your fridge for carrots. Make sure you have some, or he’ll steal your candy!

(GH is not as nice as the Ghost on the Post, and loves carrots.)
A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of Ghost Hare (a pale green glowing, floating ghost with huge yellow eyes with black pupils, hare ears and a fluffy tail, whose lower half looks a little like a flapjack octopus), rifling through the crisper drawer in your refrigerator at 2am. Ghost Hare is holding a loaf of sliced bread and a jar of peanut butter in one front tentacle, and using two other tentacles to hold open and pick through the crisper drawer. GH is also holding a butter knife in another tentacle, and a jar of grape jelly in yet another. I think it’s time for a PB&J (with carrots!). Only the very edge of the fridge is visible, and one door is open, showing door holders for milk and condiments. Background is grey-black, slightly lighter in the fridge light. Ghost Hare loves autumn, it gets dark earlier. GH does not show up well in daylight. (Do not eat the brown jellybeans! GH is not the Easter Bunny!)

Dream big, little nugget. Dream big. 😁💜
A marker, ink, and paint pen of a goofy-looking orange frog holding a pumpkin carving knife in both paws, looking at a huge pumpkin with determination, and dreaming of getting first prize in the pumpkin carving competition. The frog is facing right, squinting, tongue sticking out. There is a dark purple thought bubble above their head with an image of a pumpkin carved with a ghost and “Happy Halloween!”, with a blue 1st ribbon attached. Between the frog and the pumpkin (who kind of resemble each other, but the frog has spots) is a flat purple box with “Carve-a-pumpkin!” printed on the side. Our little forg is punching above his weight class, I fear. The fight will be long, messy, and glorious. (Frog based on a weird frog in a 1577 print.)

He is bright orange, with lighter orange spots, facing right, lips (yes, I know) around the base of a piece of candy corn held in his left front paw, and holding another piece in his right front paw. There is a pile of five large pieces of candy corn on the right, in front of the frog. The candy corn is traditional colours, orange, yellow, and white. Above the frog is written “MMM.… CANDY CORN.”, in curved letters around the frog’s back. I’m sorry I didn’t post yesterday; I was having a day. But, I saw an old piece from 2025, thought of this, and loled.

What? I am hilarious. 🤭😁💜
A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing (over a print of a previous drawing of mine) of an orange frog and a purple frog playing Battleship (the original board game), but the orange frog is eating the pieces. The orange frog is on the left, holding a bunch of Battleship pieces in their right paw, is taking another piece off the board with their left, and has one piece (a whole battleship with a red peg sticking out of the top) in their mouth. They are looking sleepily at the purple frog on the right, who is gesturing at the board and yelling. The board is blue with black edges (original game set!), and the pieces are grey ships and red and white pegs. Underneath the board, white lettering on green grass says “Not all Frogs should Play Chess”, but “Chess” is crossed out, and “Board Games” is written in white letters above “Chess”. The purple frog is yelling “Hey! You ATE my Battleship!”. (The original tagline for the TV ad was one of the kids saying “You sank my Battleship!”.) They are sitting on grass with rolling hills in the background, under a blue sky with light clouds. Frogs are doing things in the background: left, a frog is half visible coming over the near hill, and an orange frog is looking panicked on the far left hill, as their purple frog friend has fallen over, feet in the air. Right, a purple frog and an orange frog are waving at each other from separate hills. This was inspired by a single goofy-looking frog in a 1577 print, and a drawing of mine from November 2025.
