CDS Postdoc Julia Linhart and colleagues found a faster, diffusion-based way to match computer simulations, like models of brain activity, to real-world data.

Their method ran about 2.5 times faster than the previous approach.

Not me using ISO-SPLIT to sort spike snippets from single tungsten wires recorded in the medieval times of my postdoc when disk space prevented us from fully streaming all signals at 24kHz and now thinking about the months of my life lost to manual spike sorting.

Rick’s Cavity Paper Published!
Congratulations to Rick Mueller, former grad student and currently a postdoc in our group, on publishing his work on signals from cavities for Project 8 in Physical Review C! Rick developed and validated a model for how trapped electrons radiate into cavity modes, and what those signals can tell us. These results offer valuable guidance for designing future cavity-based CRES experiments. Read the paper here: PRC arxiv:2601.07848
