after like... 15 years? I swapped my personal email hosting from self-hosted (debian, postfix, dovecot) to @fastmail.com.
I'm sad email (as an ecosystem) is this way, but it is just so much easier and less stressful now.
old clients (eg, K-9) work just fine. DNS instructions easy. took just 10min

i think my dream programming language is very ugly. lots of postfix sigils, lots of operator overloading, lots of C++-style custom literals, both f#-style & hack-style pipe operator, etcetc

Oh German has that too! They add an asterisk and the female postfix. So Künstler (male artists) and Künstlerinnen (female artists) becomes Künstler*innen to include at least 2 genders (I don't know if this would include non-binary artists too, as again, not a native speaker)

I was faced with the decision as a young sysadmin of whether to go down the postfix road, the quail road, or the sendmail road. I chose postfix and continue to believe it’s why I am somewhat sane still.
