This reminds me, tangentially, of JD Vance agreeing that "the whole purpose of the postmenopausal female" (!) is to raise grandchildren, because obviously there needs to be an explanation for postmenopausal women existing at all. All transphobia is misogyny.

Factors associated with postmenopausal migraine persistence: A retrospective tertiary headache clinic-based study
CONCLUSION: Migraine showed overall improvement in severity and frequency if it persisted after menopause. Persistence was associated with a first-degree relative with migraine and insomnia. Surgical menopause also showed an association, but this estimate was imprecise due to ...

Yup, you're all postmenopausal women now.
See us for advice.
They think of us the way factory egg farmers think about chickens - how little space, food, air, and water can they give us and still get eggs? And then what's the most efficient way to dispose of us once we stop producing eggs?

Takotsubo syndrome predominantly affects postmenopausal women, who account for roughly 90% of all reported cases. It is thought that the decline in protective estrogen levels increases myocardial sensitivity to surge-level catecholamines. #medsky

110 postmenopausal women, sleep measured in a lab. Elinzanetant cut time awake after falling asleep by 22.50 minutes at week 4. By week 12 the difference was -0.94 minutes.
A menopause sleep drug worked at week 4, then didn't
A SLEEP trial gave 110 postmenopausal women elinzanetant or placebo and measured sleep in a lab. The 22-minute advantage at four weeks had vanished by twelve.

Patients were classified as having persistent or resolved migraine after menopause. Premenopausal migraine severity and frequency, measured using a visual analog scale and monthly migraine days, were extracted from the database for comparison with postmenopausal values. (🧵 4/10)

Myth: HRT prevents frozen shoulder. In records of 1,952 postmenopausal women aged 40 to 60, 7.65% off hormone therapy had it, vs 3.95% on it (Reinke et al., Climacteric, 2026). We'd like that. But only 152 were on hormones, so the gap may be chance, and the authors want bigger studies.

The sleep hygiene list was finally tested on women like us.

150 postmenopausal women with chronic insomnia. Cool dark room, same bedtime, no caffeine, the whole pamphlet. It fixed about 4 in 100.

How many of you were handed that list and sent home?

Despite persistence, postmenopausal assessments showed significant reductions in median visual analog scale scores (7.0 [6.0-8.0] vs. 6.0 [4.0-7.0]), median monthly migraine days (8.0 [5.0-14.0] vs. 6.0 [3.0-10.0]), and the proportion of patients reporting aura (🧵 6/10)

Comparative efficacy and safety of pharmacological interventions for postmenopausal osteoporosis: a network meta-analysis
This systematic review and NMA adhered to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses for Network Meta-Analyses (PRISMA-NMA) guidelines. The completed checklist is provided in Supplementary Material 1. The study protocol was prospectively registered with PROSPERO (CRD420251149474). Data sources and search strategy We searched four English databases (PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, and Web of Science) from their inception to March 5, 2026. The search strategy consisted of three main components: (1) Population (e.g., "post-menopausal bone loss", "post-menopausal osteoporosis", "post-menopause bone loss", "post-menopause osteoporosis"); (2) Intervention (e.g., "Alendronate", "Raloxifene", "Calcitonin", "Teriparatide", "Denosumab", "Calcitriol"); and (3) Study type (e.g., "Randomized Controlled Trial", "randomized", "placebo"). Only studies that were published in English were eligible for inclusion. The complete set of search queries is available in Supplementary Material 2. Inclusion criteria Publications were considered eligible for inclusion based on the criteria outlined below: (1) Study types: RCTs. (2) Population: Eligible participants were women aged ≥ 40 years with a diagnosis of postmenopausal osteoporosis, defined as either: the presence of a radiographic vertebral fracture or a recent (within 5 years) nonvertebral fracture, accompanied by a bone mineral density(BMD) T-score ranging from − 2.5 to − 5.0 in women ≤ 65 years or...

YES menopause due to cancer-related tx is more severe than natural menopause

OVARIAN SUPPRESSION is particularly severe

Post menopausal women CAN get additional symptoms, especially urogenital, due to suppression of residual hormones (adrenal and peripheral).
