It took about 30 tries to successfully launch Smash Bros. DX before this. Now it takes just one.

I don't want to have to know the difference between a keyed potentiometer shaft and a splined potentiometer shaft. I just want to make synth music and comedy podcasts. but also our current setup is a cabling nightmare and the basement humidity has already caused some corrosion

reels on Facebook do not respect the silent switch or volume being all the way down on my phone. I miss “volume” being a knob directly connected to a potentiometer which let or did not let a certain amount of electricity into the amplifier & not just a button that software may or may not care about

Take a lawnmower throttle, use a razor blade to get rid of the mold line, then apply some sandpaper and scratch remover compound, add a potentiometer insert to connect it to a rotary encoder and now I've got a landing gear control for my button box.

Not a typo. A potentiometer that is in fact, actually structurally integrated as the sole thing holding a playing card sized PCB assembly in place by its three little legs.

Huh. TIL Dreamcast used hall effect sensors bc they looked at everybody just reusing the same potentiometer design of the PS1 and decided they would come up with something better.
