My parents gifted this taonga to me for my birthday last week, a pounamu necklace and a pair of pounamu earrings. They wanted to recognise the work I've been putting into my te reo Māori journey. Very precious.

I'm really not superstitious or spiritual but 3 weeks ago I lost my pounamu greenstone necklace and today I found it at the gym down the crack of a floorboard in the changing room.... I feel re-energised, like me again!!

This is the southern blue, which lives in tussock fields a cross the South Island te wai pounamu. They are absolutely stunning to see in person. I'm afraid my painting does not do them justice.
