Google is trying to use its monopoly power to force AI into our public schools.

No corporation should have the power to dictate how we teach our children.

Our public schools exist to serve students, not to grow the profit margins of Big Tech.
Google Will Turn Off Search for Schools That Reject A.I.
Google is making it easier to restrict its A.I. tools for students. But schools that block A.I. entirely will lose student access to Google’s search engine.

The Second Amendment isn't something we can allow people like him, and followers of his, to own. It is a right for everyone.

Firearms are tools of power, and to allow there to be a power vacuum in this case (in this country) is to cede power to the worst amongst us.
GOOD NEWS! The vile bigot Brandon Herrera lost Texas House District 23! He is a YouTuber known as “The AK Guy” who poses with his copy of Mein Kampf, films himself goose-stepping while testing Nazi-era guns, promotes misogyny, and calls children “cum trophies.” Officially, the LOSER we know he is!

Dear Dem leaders: Exit polls tell us "71% of voters say Congress must do more to check President Trump." That means Dems have a mandate to hold Trump accountable for his corruption & abuse of power. Democrats must do that by ferociously going after Trump & his regime using all tools available!

It will be interesting to see if Dems actually take advantage of the power of the purse to try and pushback against Trump and admin priorities.

It’s definitely one of the effective tools they can use as they control Senate & House, especially when it comes to unpopular stuff like Iran war.
Q: How are Democrats going to end the war?

SCHUMER: The Founding Fathers had the power of the purse as one of the ways of deterring a president who does war without the consent of the American people

What power do the Democrats have to hold the Trump administration accountable when they take back Congress? According to @zackbeauchamp.bsky.social, they have a lot of tools at their disposal.

we are just not prepped for semiotic power tools they need strict controls

I suspect Gingrich-era concern trolling about spending on the tools of congressional power is as dead as Bushism; the worm has turned on that discourse.

Making the claim for building up Congress' power as against an unpopular court & a radioactive president is attractive & plausible.
Subcommittee. Revolution.

(But yes to the rest of it too. And yes, Dems will be bashed for putting money into Congress; it's worth the criticisms. If it makes them feel better, do the anti-corruption stuff along with it).
i'm praying this congress reverses the gingrich reforms and drops elevators of cash on committee staff and resources

How my Carpenter pre-apprenticeship class is going:

the "the Founding Fathers gave Congress the power of the purse and that's one of the tools we have to deal with a President's war powers" (paraphrasing, I'm not a journalist)

Back to Basics would be a perfect grade 7-12 course.
Home Ec, finance, basic power tools, woodworking, driver's license, etc.

Investing in basic trade/uni courses/arts & culture etc in high schools could alleviate workforce shortages.

Restore the VRA; national gerrymandering ban; national same-day voter registration mandate to states; revive/strengthen tools of congressional institutional power like the Office of Technology Assessment, CRS, & CBO (& Sergeant at Arms)...you get the idea

Bedroom power tools? Oh God, I hadn’t even thought of that. 🫢

That’s unusual in France where there are strict rules (usually abided by) for noise from power tools.

The state is inherently hierarchical and built to protect the ruling class's power. Whether Democrats or Republicans are in charge, government institutions are tools of coercion that defend private property and centralized power rather than freeing people.

Making bat boxes for the Think Wild wildlife organization. They’re a moderately complex build. Fortunately I have the right power tools. 😁
