Mahalo, Noah!
#preWGA writer. Scifi, Horror, Crime drama, and more. Features and TV pilots galore. I enjoy playing in existing IP/Universes. Placed in many contests back before I realized they weren't good for much. Excellent collaborator. Nice guy. No ego (in a good way). Keep writing, folks!

TV writers, please use this thread to introduce yourself. Tell people what level you are. What you write. And if there is a dream staff you’d like to work on right now. I don’t have a huge following on here but who knows? Maybe the right person will see this and give you the boost you need.

This is great Noah, thanks!
I’m Collin, a #preWGA drama, genre, history, and mystery writer. I write about outsiders struggling to fit in who come to embrace their identity.
I’ve placed in a bunch of contests and was the CE for a small prodco for a few years.
Dream show would be Star City (🤞🏼 s2!)

I wish ISA gigs would pick up.. It's been over a week since we had somethin' fresh (I'm not counting the Bollywood wedding made-for-tv gig, because 1. It's not for me, boooo! 😉 and 2. They keep re-upping the same gig, [which seems kinda red-flaggy to me!])

Back on Twitter, there used to be this slogan like… PreWGA for writers on the cusp of breaking into the WGA. No one I know has made a Pre839 or PreTAG hashtag… that would be AWESOME for finding budding talent looking for their 1st professional job!

Sneaking over here from That Doomed Bird app.
Writer. Screenwriter. PreWGA. Reader.
Can't find any of my people. And feeling overwhelmed.
So, you know, nothing new.

Let's start with the easiest approach - social media. While Screenwriting Twitter isn't what it once was, vibrant writing communities are thriving on Bluesky, Threads, and LinkedIn. Search hashtags like #PreWGA, #WritingCommunity, and #amwriting to find your people.

I've heard thousands of TV pitches. The worst one taught me more than all the best ones combined. Here's why. (Quick Story Time) 🧵⤵️

Dear WGA / my fellow #preWGA writers: see you tomorrow! I’m trying to find one of my many Jaws / The Last Drive-In shirts for this one, but my kids have no respect when it comes to the sanctity of my dresser & we’re behind on laundry.

Solidarity (from 6+ feet) with the WGA from a #PreWGA dude with 3 broken ribs & torn muscles: I was exposed to COVID last Friday while getting my doggy Sherlock vaxxed up, the “expired in July 2022” test I took was negative but I just picked up a fresh / valid one. Much love from New England.

I finished the first draft of my very first sci-fi script. This is heady stuff. I grew up watching Star Trek, Seaquest, Battlestar Galactica (OG) and Buck Rogers. Now I’m finally writing it. #scifi #sciencefiction #screenwriter #screenwriting #prewga #WritingCommmunity #scriptsky
