How do small axolotls regenerate small limbs while big axolotls regenerate big ones? 🦎💪

Enjoyed writing about the stellar preprint from Tardivo and Olmeda from the Tanaka and @ehannezo.bsky.social labs, pushing the limits of scaling in this remarkable system

in 2020 my lab quit Microsoft Word and began writing in R Markdown, an open-source document-publishing system that facilitates a clear, permanent link between statements in text (scientific prose) and the code producing analyses and visualizations supporting those statements (scientific analyses)

Answer: AI preprint OK

"bioRxiv does not perform peer review or judge the quality of a submission before posting online. Therefore, its presence on bioRxiv does not signal endorsement or certification of the findings. In fact, every preprint includes a disclaimer that the article is a preprint."
How does @biorxivpreprint.bsky.social handle posted AI-fabricated preprints?

Not posting the slop bc authors should get zero attention.

Semaglutide shifted proteomic heart "age" by 2-4 years vs placebo, in a 10,052-participant preprint. But a lower organ clock isn't proof of a younger organ, and the authors say so. What would validate it as an endpoint?

Worth noting that in 2020 all water usage for thermoelectric generation in the US was 60 billion gallons a day. This has likely decreased since there is less coal + new nat gas plants are extremely efficient. Also the paper the article references is a preprint on arxiv.
