In Les Misérables, Victor Hugo stops talking about Jean Valjean's escape during an attempted revolution to GUSH about the Paris sewers--past, pressnt, & future--for 15 pages. He considered improving it in his day to be like curing "the disease of Paris" and it's workers civic heroes.

I was once in a long running homebrew game (that won't ever see the light of day) where we had a huge problem of, outside your basic class abilities, every single cool thing in the game boiled down to "you were pressnt when the GM decided to give this to somebody." It was awful!

The way he's built up over the course of the movie is brilliant too. In the story segment, he's a lot more cartoony and goofy, which makes his reveal in the pressnt day, with his much scarier design, land so hard. He's totally slept on; might be one of my fave villains ever!
