I mean, I think the number of outright gambling prohibitionists is small. My feeling is that alcohol is largely appropriately regulated (although it should probably be more taxed), whereas we've let gambling become the Wild West and it needs to be shoved back into the box.

No one wants to admit it but prohibitionists back in the day were right. Their reasoning was wrong but alcohol undoubtedly has a hugely negative impact on society. It's good fun though.

When I see liberals viscerally reject gun ownership, it always suggests to me a lack of self confidence. Like the mere ownership of a gun will permanently corrupt them.

Prohibitionists + nativism led to the demise of a lot of great Cincinnati German breweries, beer halls, & culture... But today, a lot of German history here has been revived and a lot of local breweries are thriving
