Like I know "Just delete Chrome" and I agree, but some folks are forced to use it for work or school

Here's a step by step guide to stop Chrome trying to use the 4GB local AI model it secretly downloads:
1. Go to chrome://settings/system and disable "On-device AI"
2. Go to chrome://flags and disable all the flags in the 2nd and 3rd images.
3. Delete the model folder from your Chrome user data.

The article doesn't explain what to do to remove this and prevent it from re-downloading.
If I enter into the browser "chrome://flags/" I can scroll down to "Writer API for Gemini Nano" (followed by the Rewriter, Proofreader, Summarizer, LiteRT). (1/1 - continued ...)

Chrome's "Proofreader API for Gemini Nano" is enabled silently by default, and its four-sentence-long description has at least three typos.

Which would be worse, admitting Gemini wrote this junk, or claiming human error because they didn't trust their LLM to vibe-proofread its own description?

I'm going through chrome://flags to turn off all the AI stuff I can find (I don't hate AI, but I despise how companies are opting us into everything with every fibre of my being).

And there are things that YOU CANNOT DISABLE.

To prevent or remove this #AI trash from Google Chrome, go to:

chrome://flags

Disable the entries for:

• the optimization guide on-device model
• Prompt API

Then restart the browser, and manually delete the folder.
