Being ex Mormon I would agree. At church and as a leader you were taught to push republican because of gay rights and abortion. They spent millions trying to block prop8 in California. Since leaving the Mormon cult I see the lies of the cult they protect pedophiles.

So why was it that despite fighting alongside White gay men in ActUp protests it was my responsibility to chastise my people? He didn’t know that the day before I handed out vote for Obama stickers and each time said to vote against Prop8. Would he have had a different reaction if I did tell him?

My brother came out as gay to my mom. She chose to love him over her religion. Soon, both my parents were disgusted by the church’s influence on Prop8.
My mom’s side of the family didn’t take too kindly to us leaving- and have since cut ties with us.

It was then learning the horrors enacted by these organized religious groups that turned me off entirely.
