Kill puritanism.
Yo @bsky.app this new nsfw filter is horrible. It hides whole accounts, I have to click through a censor bar to see what a friend thought of a movie because a year ago they drew a butt? We already had content filters, this just makes the site unusable and deters a chunk of your audience from posting

Feels like the US has spent the last 5+ years on the verge of some kind of secular moral revival that keeps getting channeled into weirdo lifestyle puritanism
Cafes across the U.S. are embracing the low- and no-caffeine lifestyle, with options that are a far cry from dusty tea bags and rewarmed decaf. nyti.ms/3XKlqoj

the next generation of democratic leadership needs to combine a steely-eyed puritanism with righteous hatred. new model army dems.
The simple fact is that senior Democrats still--*still*, at this late stage--believe that Trump is essentially mostly bluster and that all of this will eventually blow over and we'll be back to business as usual. They do not comprehend how serious this moment is.

The suggestion that cultural puritanism is to blame for public dislike of Disney Adults is so laughable it really distracts from how absurd the rest of this is. Modern Disney is just Puritanism hollowed out by capitalism, an endless vista of frictionless, meaningless experiences sold at a premium.
Trigger warning: Disney adults. I generally try not to respond to the ‘discourse,’ but media/social media keeps obsessing over Disney adults and keeps getting everything wrong.

The 'Disney adult' obsession needs to stop already
Everyone loves to hate on grown-up fans of Disney theme parks. But what's the harm in letting people experience a bit of joy, especially now?

Feminism that doesn’t include sex workers isn’t feminism—it’s just Puritanism in a feminist t-shirt.

Fun fact: air conditioning takes less energy than heating and no less important. The belief that it's "decadent" is puritanism.
Air conditioning is an absolutely vital life-saving technology on a swiftly-warming planet, and people who claim it's somehow more shameful to cool a home than it is to heat one are idiots.

I wrote this a few years ago and still stand by it:

Climate Change Demands More Air Conditioning
An often-disparaged technology is a lifesaver, not a luxury.

No. That's just overactive puritanism and censorship. Next question.
