A fine example of #puttiofindustry
Beautifully executed, "An Allegory of Maritime Commerce" was made in marble as a feature of the chimney-piece in a merchant's house, probably by Thomas Driver the Elder (between 1829 & 1856). Grosvenor Museum Chester #stoneworksunday

So many, many times I have passed the gates of George Heriot's School without stopping to look at it (as opposed to the amazing main building and views of Edinburgh Castle). I only saw today the #puttiofindustry there (variant on #puttiofscience)

They're wonderful! A match for the #PuttiOfPorts on the frieze of the Corn Exchange in Leith, though they're not so close to me. My closest may be the #PuttiOfIndustry at the gatehouse of Heriot's school
