Apple using QLC to cut costs is pretty acceptable considering all of an iPhone's otherwise impressive performance numbers are tuned to be super bursty (eg passive CPU cooling) but still a bummer considering that they led in NVMe before they ever led in CPUs.

Over the weekend I finally got QLC+ installed on my Pi to control my movers, rewired the living room movers for the wiring to be a bit more clean, and put them on a smart plug to be able to turn them on/off remotely. It’s pretty dope. I can’t wait for more from QLC plus.

Finally got QLC on the Raspberry Pi to accept ArtNet from QLC on my PC so I can design scenes on my PC, have the rpi still output DMX without unplugging my DMX dongle! Sick! QLC+ is such a good piece of software holy shit.

I forgot to mention that the MLC NAND is more durable than TLC and QLC NAND, hence a sensible choice for a “ROM” product. The lower density, however, contributes to its higher costs than the more common TLC and QLC memory. This may be one reason behind the high cost of Game Cards.

In Macronix’s (旺宏) Q4 results conference, President Lu confirmed what Nintendo tech watchers had pieced together for sometime—Switch “ROM” is essentially MLC NAND plus a controller chip.

The abysmal ROM revenues, however, suggest that they hadn’t volume-produced any Switch 2 Game Cards yet.
