Why do we see red, feel blue, or turn green with envy? Join our one-day online seminar with Dr Domicele Jonauskaite (Institute of Psychology, University of Lausanne) to explore the fascinating intersection of colour perception, emotion, language, and culture. Designed for PhD students, post-docs, professors, and research professionals, this workshop will synthesize evidence from a recent systematic review and large-scale research spanning 73 countries and 46 languages, examining which colour–emotion associations may be universal and which are shaped by cultural, geographic, and linguistic context. Participants will gain insight into cross-cultural research design, reproducible and quantitative methods, and mechanistic evidence from colour-blind and blind populations, with opportunities to discuss collaborative projects, preregistration, and publication strategies.
