This #herbarium hero is Sara Hoffmann, Bucknell ‘27. Sara worked as a curatorial assistant in the Manning Herbarium this year and mounted more than 1200 specimens!

1888 #herbarium specimen of Solanum carolinense. Bucknell's Manning Herbarium has many sheets from the 1800s, incl. the Mary A. Hakes Collection. Hakes (front left) was on the faculty of the Female Institute, U. at Lewisburg (later Bucknell U).

Little bit rainy this morning for our collecting foray to the Forrest D. Brown Conference Center in Cowan, but this intrepid crew gathered #herbarium specimens for more than 90 species in just 2.5 hours. That’s some real #plantpeopleFTW stuff right there.
