My RDAP buddy has thoughts about balancing the need to protect sensitive data, the benefits of international collaborations, the requirements for sharing, and an unsatisfying afternoon snack option. #RDAP26 #SmallGrayCat

Today's informal chat about crafting was a highlight of #RDAP26! The intersection of data and craft is real, and the discussion ranged across knitting, cross stitch, watercolor, block printing, quilting, sewing, music, data sonification, and more.

Really appreciating the nuanced takes in this session on ethics, transparency and responsible (data) sharing. “What is ethical is what’s sustainable and scalable with available resources” #RDAP26

My kids’ school is expected to strike starting tomorrow and my laptop is still with IT after a worm hit our library network hard last week. 🙃

But somehow, I’m going to still try to make all of #RDAP26 this week because it’s my favorite conference of the year.

I love that people are making sure to give the variances between accessibility as it's used in the FAIR Principles (can you get to it) and accessibility as it's used for ensuring all researchers can use the data (including if use screen readers, keyboard navigation, etc!)

Good news: the school strike got cancelled last-minute, so I’m all good to be at #RDAP26 uninterrupted. That said, my laptop is still in purgatory. Good thing I didn’t get a proposal accepted this year, as I’m in listen-only mode right now.

Two months deep into the ADA Title II trenches! While I’ve been focused on legal compliance, I’m loving this session at #RDAP26 on making data accessible. It’s so refreshing to look beyond website checklists and focus on truly inclusive information design. 📊✨

#rdap26 take a look at the additions (second post in thread) for publication of raw data
HHS just published an update to its Scientific Integrity Policy. Notably, it has removed the concept of political interference, and no longer calls it out as something specifically to be prevented.

Reflecting on how many talks at #RDAP26 describe a curated data repository and an uncurated documents repository.

My library does the opposite: an uncurated data repository and a curated article repository. I think this works for us, as we have 75k+ data records and 100k+ articles. But interesting.

Hearing about communities in anthropological research wanting their data and knowledge to not be shared in public repositories and how that shapes what knowledge is discoverable and easily found.
