WaPo published this right before news spread of the ceasefire being broken. Truly impeccable timing.

how about the social media platforms are re-categorised as publishers which they completely fucking are and they’re responsible for what’s published

Re-upping this I published almost 2 years ago. Nothing’s changed, except now it’s too late. #McConnell

This whole thread up & down.

Re: a recent NYT article on why Ebola & other outbreaks keep happening.

Some folks seem to think "Ew just tell those Africans to stop cutting down the forests" is a real answer? And they get published in the NYT.
I cannot ignore this now, as I have never been able to ignore it before, because getting the science wrong leads to the wrong policy frame: if you believe that you can prevent every outbreak simply by living in harmony with nature, there is no reason to invest in preparedness or health systems.

I’ve seen more “Biden old” articles published just this week than articles talking about how the current sitting President wants to re-invade Afghanistan.

Re: Navalny: one point of using a synthesized frog toxin, which the published literature shows THE EXACT SAME LAB that made the Novichok worked out a synthesis pathway, is the reverse of plausible deniability. It's "implausible deniability", a "hahahaha we did and you know we did it"

It's gotta be so demoralizing working for the New York Times. You spend days diligently re-reporting a week-old regionally published article you're pretending doesn't already exist only to open the op-ed section and see "Mongrel Sterilization Is in the Constitution" by Trevor M. Swastika.

Re: Bluesky influence.

I just filed an essay that discusses the Reconstruction Papers published by @liberalcurrents.com. I learned about it via Bluesky. I connected with @adamgurri.liberalcurrents.com over Bluesky. Now I'm going to put it in the local paper where non-Blueskiers will read it (maybe)

Please note that all the outlets now correcting their narrative re: ICE killing Silverio Villegas González since FPPD body cams have been released initially published the DHS statement now proven to be mostly false. There's never any understanding/admission of harm done. They'll just do it again.

4. The Washington Post re-published a 230 word AP article fabout the FBI crime report. It did not appear in the print edition.

On A1, the paper published a story about Trump's threat to federalize DC because crime is out of control. Not mentioned: In 2024, violent crime in D.C. was at a 30 year low

But like, obviously I'm going to keep fucking with it and ideally an editor makes me re-write huge swathes of it before it gets published.

when I would write a single feature-length story I would be so sick of reading it and re-reading it and re-writing it that by the time it was published I wanted nothing to do with it, a book is that times a thousand

Given that it has been reported that the Times published the problematic Mamdani/Columbia story quickly to avoid being scooped by Christopher Rufo, I thought I’d re-up this post from last month about how frequently the Times quotes Rufo on a variety of issues.
In the last year, the Times has given Rufo the opportunity to opine 29 times on higher ed, transgender health care, national intelligence, student mental health, plagiarism, twitter's political dynamics, George Floyd, school vouchers, DEI, Donald Trump Jr, JD Vance, Project 2025, and Bari Weiss.

This week, WaPo published a “profile” re: Chris Buskirk—who co-founded the Thiel-backed Rockbridge Network w/ JD Vance. Curiously, the profile omitted Buskirk’s ties to “Christian Nationalism” via American Reformer (where he is a director), which supports William Wolfe’s organization. This guy ⬇️ 1/
