Equals 10 nuclear reactors
Reduces heat island, shades cars
The US -- 800 million parking spaces. Most of them are uncovered asphalt sitting in direct sunlight.
Why aren't we doing this?

I know I'll take flak for this, but the principle - if not the execution - is sound. Modular reactors can enable the decarbonisation of parts of the economy that are otherwise hard to reach. But tying their development to the US? That's less sound. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Canada's nuclear reactors (CANDU) are designed to use decommissioned nuclear weapons as fuel and can be refueled while running at full power. They're considered among the safest and the most cost effective reactors in the world.
