my smoothbrain take is very simple: if your website or readme has the slop stench im closing the tab

if you cant be bothered to even write a readme or hire a guy to build a website i cant be bothered to pay attention

Question for README writers: when a README linter flags a problem, should CI block the merge, only warn, or stay out of it entirely? I added a warn-only example to readme-unslop. I'd love your honest take. #README #OpenSource

Now the next piece of work will be to deslopify the readme / inline API docs / tests

I understand you don't have the time or the resources to offer good API documentation. Well, at least try to put together a single-page README that consumers can understand.

Three Elements of a Good API README
Sometimes, offering an API README is enough. What are the elements that make it good?

reading the readme, the text looks a little suspicious, checks the profile picture of the github account that posted it, oh well

OMG, I had that at one point, except it was a single README in a zip file

Flemme de commit pour un verbe mal conjugué dans un readme.

Well I guess I should add a README then

Wish I knew what this does, there's no README or docs! Not even a link to an external site

Publishing the code without the readme is solid engineer work.

I remember I promised to make the README closer to the top, and it's always on my mind...

But now, we've taken a small steps further towards it, so you can configure even more for Your experience

Fun result. Asking it to also write a short readme on how the feature works makes it easier to fix when something breaks later.

New habit I picked up this year:
"README dot md" files EVERYWHERE

Any directory (that represents some sort of bounded context) with anything of note going on, bang, IN SITU notes.

Taxes, bank accounts, yearly sublets, projects of all kinds…
