An expert SNL recapitulation of the story this week.👇

Stunned myself with the realization that RETURN OF THE JEDI (1983) is a recapitulation of the Biblical Binding of Isaac where Abraham decides to kill God instead of his son

The SNAP fight is actually a recapitulation of the entire purpose of the shutdown.
There's a contingency fund, Trump is required to spend it, but he's not, usurping Congress's power of the purse, essentially so he can do it again with normal appropriations whenever he wants
NEW: We just filed a lawsuit alongside 25 states to restore SNAP food assistance during the federal shutdown.

141,000 DC residents rely on SNAP to afford their meals — including 47,000 children and 24,000 seniors.

We will do everything in our power to prevent DC families from going hungry.

A kind and effective recapitulation of Lesson 1 of "On Tyranny" from Simon Rosenberg here:

I think the extent to which election postmortems revolve around fights between libs and the left over policy, and Inside Baseball recapitulation of factional disputes over policy, is actually much more closely related to why we lost than any of the policies being disputed

Bloody love it when the B plot is a smaller stakes thematic recapitulation of the A plot. Hell yeah.

They are not hiding it anymore.

I fear for the next steps as a recapitulation of what we went through almost 100 years ago.

Lieu's statement is, of course, an accurate recapitulation of Epstein files. And we know the worst were never released. bsky.app/profile/mich...
Just a reminder this statement was said by a sitting Congressman to the public, Trump and his DOJ offered not one pushback, denial or lawsuit.. it’s still just sitting out there

Ah, yes, the classic all-caps recapitulation of quiet certainty.
I mean…this is basically a giant, flashing neon sign proclaiming that Elon and Marco have beef. Maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll take each other out. 🙏🏻🙏🏼🙏🏽🙏🏾🙏🏿

The problem with @julianbarnes.bsky.social piece is it is a prime example of blind stenography--no analysis, no critique just recapitulation of what agencies say. If one has covered this issue for months, years now, might you engage with the science dear sir? Apparently not.
The CIA has said for years that it did not have enough information to conclude how the Covid pandemic originated. The agency has issued a new assessment this week, with analysts saying they now favor the theory that it emerged from an accidental leak at a research lab in Wuhan, China.
C.I.A. Now Favors Lab Leak Theory to Explain Covid’s Origins
A new analysis that began under the Biden administration is released by the C.I.A.’s new director, John Ratcliffe, who wants the agency to get “off the sidelines” in the debate.

It was, as I said at the time, a recapitulation of a prior Court’s sociologically obtuse insistence that segregated facilities could be “separate but equal”: A retreat to an abstract ideal that could never survive five minutes of actual experience.

Interestingly, in the long recapitulation of "overt acts" in support of the conspiracy count, they don't mention this bodily injury to an officer, which . . . you'd think that'd be a good one to have in there.

She is alleged to have "brake checked" the officer causing a collision.

Yes! This is what annoys me most about the “LLMs will produce history PhDs”. Summarising work and producing a plausible recapitulation of archival martial is not what historical research is about.

Lawgeeks, this is a helpful recapitulation. Plus a charming digression on D.D.C.
The state of play in the Alien Enemy Act litigation is worth updating in its own right, and provides a powerful lesson for #SCOTUS about the *costs* of requiring nationwide challenges to Trump policies to proceed on a district-by-district (or even plaintiff-by-plaintiff) basis.

Me, via "One First":
150. The State of Play in the Alien Enemy Act Litigation
A series of outwardly inconsistent developments in different courts in the Alien Enemy Act cases underscores the difficulties that litigants challenging Trump policies face without nationwide relief.

An example of how even a small morsel of news (discovery of Weiner emails that turned out to be nothing) can be blown up into multiple stories if the paper decides to: "Jolts Clinton Campaign" (horse race) "Trump says 'changes everything' (horse race)" and a recapitulation of background on Comey

The reason this is exciting is that it is an incredible recapitulation of the last 100 years of academic social science.

In a lot of ways what we’re seeing is a recapitulation of the Old South vs New South approach cities like Miami, Atlanta, Dallas, and Houston faced in the collapse of Jim Crow.
