Way back when, I bore witness to a somewhat worrying quirk in the way ActivityPub microblogs handle federation, in that there is no authentication of an instance beyond domain. If you open a new instance on a domain that once featured old content, cached media will refederate back in.

You know, if they don't want to reopen a government that protects everyone's rights, we don't need them to re-open. States just stop paying federal taxes. Reroute that to local needs. Slowly refederate based on the actual needs of the people not some greedy super rich class. we all profit.

I'm still saying, if the government is shut down anyway. States should stop paying taxes. We don't have to have a king. Just ignore him. And as states pick up more and more of their constituents needs, we won't even need the fed. Or independent states can refederate. But fuck this government man.

so i'm pretty sure i have to force-refederate posts i make on bsky app views to have them show on fedi, which i'm not sure is normal because i feel this wasn't the case before. i use blacksky and/or anisota if you were wondering 🤓

Something that helps with that would be great, because right now looking out for a notification on my phone saying someone liked a post that I don't remember posting and then going in to force refederate it then boost it on our main.

offline servers are defederated as a matter of node removal. servers can quickly refederate in the timeout if they provide the proofs to multiple other federated servers and that proof is returned to the initiating server. protocol includes routing.

i post my images via bsky in order to label them with bsky's labelling since cw's automatically get put as graphic and not any of the sex ones
but it ends up not federating to fedi's end that way
but, from now on, i'll make sure to force refederate to get it on fedi~!
