These LLM tools are an enemy to science, in the broadest and deepest sense. Scientists need to be resisting them at every turn, because whatever niche positive uses have been found in no way compensate the net assault on collective epistemic and cognitive stability

This absolutely stinks. "AI" is being put to increasingly stupid uses, where stupidity is defined as that which characterizes actions that are bad for human well-being (including cognitive) and/or the human ecosystem (planet earth qua habitat).
