#remicade
Dear Blue Cross/Blue Shield. If a patient with a chronic autoimmune inflammatory disease has a witnessed transfusion reaction to remicade in their rheumatology clinic you can't demand they get another infusion of remicade before you will cover an alternative.

My psoriasis is getting worse. I’ve been on Remicade, but I’ve become immune to it now. Have you guys ever tried one called Tremfya? Does it work? If so, what percentage of your psoriasis did it take away? Thank you.

i think the remicade is doing its job at least which is very encouraging

when I was younger I was very sick with Crohn’s Disease and my insurance suddenly tried to not cover my Remicade infusions I’d been on for years. this would not have covered one of the bills for it. I got 9 a year. I still remember the stress fighting them to cover this treatment I needed to live

My prior auth for remicade expired 12/15/24. Dr office ordered my remicade 12/16/24. Aetna is being difficult.

Starting 1/1/2025, my company decided we all get UHC. So I will need a new prior auth for remicade.

Really good chance I don't get remicade well into 2025.

It is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada. I am so thankful for modern medicine. From 2001 to 2012 I had chronic pain; my body was attacking itself!

Eventually I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease and started treatment with the biologic drug Remicade. This drug and biosimilars have been life changing

I FINALLY see the IBD expert tomorrow. Praying to god he agrees to prescribe the Remicade so I can slowly transition off of the steroids (and consequently back onto a more normal diet)

#MorbusCrohn #CED #Immunsuppression #Remicade

#thatsme

My guess is he’s getting a biologic like Humira or Remicade for an auto-immune disorder (RA, crohns, colitis, etc), but it could be related to some kind of diabetes treatment, chemo, etc. Argument for something related to diabetes or cancer is he appears to be getting them frequently.

Mark my mom need Remicade for her RA. Any help you could get on RA meds is much appreciated.

I've had Crohn's since I was a kid, and am only here today because of medical advancements in the 20+ years of living with this disease. Literally.

When I was diagnosed, there were two biologic drugs on the market for Crohn's: Humira + Remicade.

My body has built antibodies to both.
What basic research is in science: it is looking—for years—at the spit of toad, or the quiet collection of data over a child’s cough. I will explain it another way: it is the Lionel Messi of science. It is sitting back quietly and then all sudden: boom, a swift innovation that changes our lives.
No one can fill this void left by the theft of basic research funding.

Well, no infusion today because there was some unknown fucking delay in shipping my Remicade. I'm so damned sick of this, but the only other GI clinic nearby is even fucking worse!

So you want to kill immunocompromised people? Kids who have had solid organ transplants? Teens who are on 6MP and remicade for inflammatory bowel disease? adults going through chemotherapy? really??

I ended up on Remicade, which worked (until a different insurer kept messing up my paperwork and I went too long between infusions and became resistant). But insurance had refused to pay $860 for Asacol and now had to pay $18k/6wks for Remicade. Bonkers. Just bonkers.

Tomorrow I am going to be getting blood work done to ensure it is safe for me to start taking an infusion medication called Remicade. Until then I'm back on 1000mg of Antibiotics.

I like Stelara. Remicade made my skin fall off.

My husband has had Crohn's for over 30 years. Our daughter has had it for about 7 years.

Biologics (Humira, Remicade) were game changers.

Compared to using Pentasa, steroids, immuran....biologics have changed their lives.
Has any new drug saved your life or the life of someone you know? If so, you can thank the NIH, which Trump and Musk are illegally destroying, in violation both of the law creating the NIH, and appropriations laws telling NIH what money to spend and how
A pie graph worth keeping in mind as the NIH budget plummets jamanetwork.com/journals/jam... for 356 new FDA drugs approved

Health Update -

My second Infusion of Remicade has started to show a few positive results. It's a very slow process of healing. My trips to the restroom have started to slow down and be less aggressive.

I'm exhausted and feel sick from it. Imagine the flu but no congestion or headache. Just tired.
