#renationalization
Renationalization without compensation is the only correct path.

Should've never privatized Air Canada to begin with.

Renationalization now.

The current PQ don't strike me as renationalization types, unfortunately

"renationalization of utilities" jesus christ
England is the only nation in the world to have water and sewerage turned into private monopolies. There is no market, "Customers" are in reality hostages. After wrecking the environment, driving poverty, price gauging and demanding billions in public subsidy the entire con is about to collapse.
A good move. Don’t hang around.

This is actually a very good argument for GBR style renationalization.

#MapMonday — Zanzibar

Built on Zanzibar Island, Wind Power Station 7 was one of many stations built in the 2400s under the East African Protectorate's renationalization efforts. In the 26th century, it was decommissioned to host classified military training exercises.

Reposting this for the UK crowd this afternoon. That renationalization has a lot of ground to cover to catch up to...the US??? ; )
Thinking about how in 2026 you can go 70 miles from Chicago in 2hrs for a 10 dollar train ticket but the 100 miles from Bristol to London cost around 120 American.

To be fully explicit as to what this means for non-rail nerds:

It's renationalization.

After this Bill passes, then whenever an existing railway operator's contract expires that set of lines will be state operated again. No ifs. No buts. No putting it off via a contract extension.

🚨Great Western Railway is coming into public ownership in December

This is only a first step to running our trains for passengers, not profit.

The Railways Bill must make sure the railway has duties to passengers, the environment and the economy - instead of prioritising competition law.

Can't imagine why the private train companies think gradual renationalization is a bad idea. Totally baffling to me. Totally.

If Democrats had any guts they would threaten renationalization of these lands, with no compensation, if and when a Dem trifecta returns to power!

Yet they have few qualms about labeling anything to the left of the current Labour government as ‘far left’, as if the mass renationalization of major industries and infrastructure, for example, is shockingly worse than mass deportations and concentration camps.

Labour highlights wins like railway renationalization, expanded workers' rights, and child poverty plans lifting hundreds of thousands.

The UK government renationalized Govia Thameslink today, bringing public operations back to the largest railway in the country.

The full renationalization program of the UK’s railways into the new GBR will be complete by the end of next year.

It's not renationalization when the rolling stock is still privately owned. It means prices will continue to increase for passengers and those companies continue to profit gouge at our expense, whilst the public is paying for more of the running costs.

you know it's a good logo because it's the only bit they kept

like, every rebrand, privatization, renationalization, etc
October 26, 2025 at 3:38 AM
Yes.

Staggered renationalization as each franchise expires or if an operator decides to break their contract early.

I just want to point out that whatever renationalization you can come up with doesn't change the true and undeniable fact that they put a hyped-up next-gen cell into their latest product and it turns out it's not that great.

Best case they can fix it with OTA, but why release a half-baked product?

364. It's already happening gradually, but, renationalization of rail service in the UK, and arresting the creeping privatization happening here. I just saw a Flixtrain schedule at Ostbahnhof of a few trains per day to Köln and a handful of other destinations, none even resembling a Takt.

Now, as in Blair's time, it's LABOUR that's preventing renationalization!
