Got in a bit of a car accident this afternoon and the people who bought us blankets and jackets and love and the roadworkers who called the police and ambulance, set up roadcones and swept the road and the lovely paramedics were all amazing (we're ok, just a bit battered). So a medal for them!

Because the current govt campaigned against roadcones, so now even the NZTA, that wrote the standards that improved the safety of us who have to work in the roadsides with traffic managment, think they can ignore traffic management (or have been given an exemption from it...)

When my sons were little, the bottom of the cul de sac was playspace. Now there are utes straddling the kerbs. When we have our Christmas street party, we just set up in the bulb of the cul de sac and someone brings out the sneaky roadcones 😎

Seriously,but.The "improvements" to SH58 (Haywards Hill Rd) have been ongoing for about a DECADE now.
It seems to have morphed into a Perpetual Income Source for Downers.
I wonder if building SH1,Wgtn to Akld,took as long in the 1800s/1900s?

There is a of water falling down from the skies. My glasses were so fogged up that i nearly smashed into new roadcones blocking an entire lane not to do work but park contractors' cars in.
