If I was to summarize what ive read so far, Brague is arguing that at the heart of European civ (and western, which are distinct) is that it is Roman. And the word that would encapsulate romanity is: mediation (the latter is my summative word)
it always amazes me how easy it is for me to read when I am traveling. between sky train and my flight, I got through 1/3 of this book. maybe the more focused and less stressful life is helping me focus longer in reading!
