the rougelite format works well for galactic racer because losing in racing games usually makes me furious, but since repeated failure and gradual improvement/progression is built into the rougelite structure i get a lot less upset by it

The only issue with this is that, like any deck builder rougelite, you only get so many cards in your hand to use. So yes, increase your deck size, but don't expect to get to use them all in one piece...or even when you most want them

I feel like the easiest way to describe the problem with credit feeding arcade games is to imagine a rougelite game that lets you continue any time you die with zero consequence... you basically destroy the entire point of the game's structure

Yeah it's a pretty cool game. But it's a rougelite. They need a game that looks like this but it's actually just a hockey game with dynasty mode and what not. Super Blood Hockey has a franchise mode and it's also a good game but I just want a hockey game. Dang EA.

I wonder if it would help if Valve added a personalization page where you could tell it what tags to ignore for recommendations.
For example, never show me anything with "rougelike" or "rougelite" tags because I'm never going to enjoy those.
