there are only four documented cases of pregnancy after salpingectomy (complete removal of the fallopian tubes) and zero cases after removal of ovaries so those are your most effective birth control options but also wtf

My surgery went really well - total hysterectomy w/ bilateral salpingectomy. Ovaries still in tact. All done robotically/laparoscopically.
Feeling tired & sore but honestly, mostly happy & relieved. I’ll update more as recovery progresses.

The RELIEF when I came around from my salpingectomy was unreal. Unreal. Precisely because of this.

This comic I made about how to get sterilized when you have ovary-based fertility always gets really popular during times like this. Asking for a hysterectomy is usually rejected, but procedures like salpingectomy and endometrial ablation are much more accessible and have a shorter recovery time.

I just got my tubes taken out (bilateral salpingectomy) and it was super easy and tanks your ovarian cancer risk!

I’ve already flashed a picture of my uterus to the entire internet when I had my salpingectomy so why not talk about sexual wellness on main too? There are no parts on a human that are inherently shameful.
