I’d add: yesterday it was a “challenging” interview, but one he still posted on Twitter (which could explain the nature of the hatemail).

Which suggests it’s the reaction, not the content, that is driving his regret.

and I referenced Sam Moyn in particular because of this post. the contrarian socialist academic and centrist left-punching writer, both agreeing that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment should be erased from the Constitution. how sweet

Oh look, Ross Douthat's co-teacher is back in the NYT with another Trump-flattering article, this time buddying up with a Bush admin co-writer.

I appreciate John Ganz for many reasons, one of which is that he functions effectively as my anger translator.

Samuel Moyn reposting Corey Robin articles from 2017 about how Trump isn't a tyrant even though Robin has long since admitted Trump's regime IS fascist. Maybe it's the good kind of non-tyrant fascism in which case, good on you Moyn.

Seeing a lot of responses similar to this one by people who make their living as members of the bourgeoisie’s intelligentsia. “Don’t read”, “Pay no attention”, people claiming its a conspiracy obsessed text, instead of dealing with the actual contents.

Cheap maneuvering.
