Speaking of berries, Canada has a berry! The Saskatoonberry! Use it in pies or jam or...ya know...berry stuff. Kind of like a blueberry and a cherry crossed with a hint of nut? Heh. Anyway, track some down if you can.

I played hockey as a kid, eat poutine, enjoy Saskatoonberries, and know that Guy is pronounced *Gee*.
Does that count?

While dozens of species of bird love Saskatoonberries, Cedar Waxwings have specially evolved to eat berries like these. www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/cedwax

Quand je cueille n’importe quoi, des pommes en automne, des fraises, des baies de Saskatoon, des bleuets… l’auteure de science-fiction en moi songe à la générosité de la nature, et à la fragilité de notre société. #urbanliving #sustainability #generosity #SaskatoonBerries

I photographed a comparison of Service Berries / Juneberries / Saskatoonberries to blueberries. As you can see, they're fairly similar In some respects but not the same. Bonus rabbit underneath a service berry Shrub, Possibly munching away on the serviceberries?. #foraging #plants #rabbit #bunnies

Plant: saskatoonberry and mayyybe a Fin Whale. I grow lots of Saskatoonberries and I’d die if I saw a Fin Whale. And I’m so nosy so thanks for revealing yourself🤭

I looooove Saskatoonberries. They thrive in my climate, they’re a butterfly host plant, an amazing pollinator plant, fruit heavily, and I’ve planted at least 10 in my area with hopes that the birds will spread them from there

Braved the wasps and bees and mosquitos for saskatoonberries aka juneberries aka (I just learned) serviceberries.
Aren’t I the lucky one to have these in my backyard?

Ahh, yeah I don’t see them very often, but when I do I snag them. However you probably can get fresh Saskatoonberries, which I was deeply disappointed to miss the season for when I visited.
