Doing some more work on this A3 textile piece today. Sorting the top right corner with the blue #TransferDye background. Padded #SatinStitch and #FrenchKnots then remembered these lovely clear coloured beads secured with Y stitches also used elsewhere in the piece. #HandEmbroidery

A year’s progress with satin stitch as evidenced by circles.

The pink cheeks of the kitty cat from last Summer were supposed to be circles. They came out like rhombuses.

Now, my circles are round! An angled stitch at the edge helps create a nice curve.

Progress! 👏 👏

After cleaning the house, I curled up with my embroidery and my audiobook while Juniper snoozed in the bay window’s sunshine. I worked on the sunflowers, slowly but surely advancing my skills with my trickiest stitch — satin stitch!

Oh my goodness! Today’s embroidery was so fun! Lots of satin stitch with the goldenrod leaves and orange leaves was done. I did a little backstitch too for the orange leaves. Satin stitch always makes my eyes tired so I do shorter sessions.

I am soooooo happy with how the mushrooms are turning out with their smooth texture and their curved edges! It’s hard to make rounded edges with satin stitch (for me at least). I’d finish the mushroom on the left, but my eyes are tired. 🤭
