Good morning! How are you feeling? I’m figuring out how best to use my free energy hours from Octopus, so lots of washing, vacuuming, coffee to come later. The sun is out and it feels miraculous after past couple of dark wet days. Loving having some flowers in the house - lucky me! #StayBright

66 seconds after liftoff the rocket goes faster than sound, the same second Apollo 11 did. In Moon Journey the climb flies on the Saturn V's own figures, through a model of the air. iPhone or iPad on iOS 26+? Beta test free: contact@moonjourney.app #space #saturnv

Okay, context really is too difficut for you huh?? I was highlighting the completely different mission plan Starship is designed for, especially compared to SaturnV which YOU brought up.

- Ad hominem(s)
- "Cant be compared" yet you share a post comparing them.
- You compare them again.
- Nobody claimed it's the heaviest to ever fly. Straw man.
- You keep comparing them...
- SaturnV was not reusable, had 3 stages, was far more expensive and had a completely different mission plan.

Lightning struck Apollo 12's Saturn V 36.5 seconds after lift-off on November 14, 1969, knocking all three fuel cells offline and garbling telemetry. It struck again at 52 seconds. EECOM John Aaron called, "Try SCE to Aux." Alan Bean threw the switch. Telemetry returned.

Interesting, I just checked and SpaceX has to put people on the moon in 2027... or their "rapid development" plan is actually slower than the SaturnV.

Gotcha! Don't get me wrong either, SaturnV is the most badass rocket ever in my opinion as well. Just hate seeing it used in these comparisons that don't make sense.

Even if that's true, the primary cause would still be from the early spaceflight decades where spent rocket stages were left in higher orbits. There are still SaturnV stages circling Earth for example, with no control. Well before SpaceX became operational at large scale.

Almost every Apollo mission had issues. Apollo 13's second stage blew up mid-flight and nearly killed the crew. SaturnV was prone to pogo oscillations and it's a miracle no F-1 engine blew up during a mission.

SaturnV being so unstable was one of the main reasons for its retirement.

Exactly.. They're trying to keep up the excuse SaturnV was far more expensive "because it's older" while also saying everything was cheaper. I think they're confusing themselves in arguments they barely understand.

And have no idea about expendable vs reusable economics. Or what 'testing' means.

They are test objectives, not operational missions. Comparing to SaturnV makes no sense. Starship is being built to be fully reusable. Completely different vehicle with different tech, built in a different way.
