Do you have a pattern for sale for the Sauropods design you posted a few weeks ago? It's gorgeous and I would love to make it!

Rozenkranz also painted this 1941 mural of Archaeopteryx on the third floor of the museum, so he counts as a paleoartist!

Like this looks like a sinister conspiracy to create dinosaurs.

By the way, when Jurassic Park gets remade (and it will get remade) it's gonna be LLMs extrapolating theropod DNA sequences from modern birds, and then they'll just cheat and put in Jurassic sauropods. Book it.

Had a quick walk today in an artist's market and there was a stall with these cute ceramic sauropods, which I thought I'd look at. Stallholder had put out little cards for each sauropod with their name and some Facts about them, like:
RIVER
Drinks tea
Does crochet
Hates men

Does the acro hit the neck only after bringing the sauropod half-down? Because one of my pet peeves in older representation is how easily theropods seemed to grab the neck of much taller sauropods from the start, which would in all likelihood be well out of reach aside from perfect ambushes.

... and IWCMS 7306, the 'Angloposeidon' neck vertebra. It comes from a very large titanosaurifirm sauropod that would have been over 20 m long and was likely Sauroposeidon-like. Myself and colleagues published this specimen in 2004. #sauropods

The major conflict in the Jurassic World films was that people got bored of dinosaurs. Hammond should have started with a small herd of sauropods, blown everyone's minds and then released a new species every couple years like iPhones. Everyone is on the edge of their seats for the big T Rex release.

This sauropod existed in the same area as other sauropods from the Morrison such as Apatasaurus and Diplodocus, processing particularly primitive traits in comparison to its cousins.

It's absolutely bonkers to imagine how this might work and why aren't they in constant pain? But they aren't. If you look how incongruent limb joints in sauropods are I think this could absolutely be a model for that. www.nature.com/articles/290...

In one of our recent polls on Patreon (which you can join for free!), we asked about dinosaur myths you heard as a kid. One of the most popular ones was that sauropods were so big they had to live in water

Though being a gigantic animal, Diplodocus shared its habitat with several other very large sauropods (Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Camarasaurus, etc..) & carnivores (Torvosaurus, Allosaurus, Ceratosaurus).

Here we go, talking about aerostatopic hadrosau---. Anyways, less controversial that wobbly monk-seal-faced hadrosaurs, so here we go.

We begin with Diplodocus, for which some research indicates extensive fleshy tissue comes out of the nose.

Diplodocids had no chewing teeth to process food but peg teeth in front of the mouth to strip vegetation. Diplodocus fed on tougher plants partitioning resources with the other sauropods though, it may have had to compete against Camarasaurus.
