I am very happy the scopolamine is stopping the 3 hours a day of vomiting but the constant dry mouth is an extremely annoying tradeoff (there is no question mark in this post)

As it is kicking off again in Iran: Tear gas and military smoke grenades are not nerve agents. Do not give atropine or scopolamine to people exposed to them.

We also added Zofran for the nausea since I can't use the scopolamine patches anymore, but knock wood I haven't had a bad enough bout to try it yet

Embodiment fuckery log: the 6 days since last scopolamine application have been very vomit-free, knock wood, since discovering compression socks improve the symptoms, but today was *brutal* for some reason
Ongoing log of embodiment fuckery: yay I slept, but the welts are so painful today (after a shitload of prednisone) that I'm actually pondering going to the ER for some IV Benadryl because the oral Benadryl is doing fuckall :/
14 hours later, the place I moved the patch to last night also has a golf ball sized welt coming up. I have removed it and taken a bunch of prednisone (argh, sigh, etc), will wait 24h, and try ONE LAST TIME with my absolute last resort transdermal application site

"Oh yeah, and there's a drug that just shuts off the effect." "Your tone says there's a but." "It's scopolamine! See this allergic reaction spot? That's six weeks old." "Jeeeeeeesus." "I gave up after the adhesive allergy started triggering other shit." "Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus."

I am breaking out in hives where the last scopolamine patch was and I am putting my body on notice that it does NOT get to throw a fit over the only thing keeping me from puking up my toenails seven times a day

Of all the drugs you’d think scopolamine would make its adhesive MCAS-friendly but NO smdh

Me, every 3 days: Do I really need to change this scopolamine patch? Can I skip it and be okay?
Me, every 3 days plus 8 hours plus or minus 3 hours: please stop running this experiment, the answers are pretty conclusive by now

Me this morning: I wonder if I really need to replace this scopolamine patch that is about to run out its dose window or if the nausea was a temporary thing that's passed?
Me, at precisely the point where the dose window ran out: oh god why do I suddenly feel like I'm going to vomit agai--oh.

I also have more scopolamine for the nausea, which is also helping, but as I said to her, at this point I am ready to try "hold this magic rock and repeat these magic words" if there's scientific or anecdotal evidence for it, that's how bad it's gotten, sigh

All praise my wife and all praise the amazing services of Wegmans pharmacy: she's home from work today because of a migraine but had to get prescriptions before they got re-shelved, so she took my scopolamine patches and a few photos of what my skin is doing with her

FWIU druggings with scopolamine are very unusual, even assuming these ice cubes work. The typical drug used for date rape is alcohol, supplied over the counter.

Oh god I woke up today and despite taking prophylactic painkillers and all the muscle relaxants in the world, I am in agony AND my tinnitus and vertigo is awful, sigh. (Doesn't help that the mask straps pulled off my scopolamine patch yesterday and I didn't have an extra.)

Different countries favor different drugs. In the US it’s been rohyphnol. In Spain, where these ice cubes launched, it’s been scopolamine. At Cornell, it was ketamine.

The market opportunities are limitless.
