You're taking the scrapper(s) comments as factual and they're so disputable, especially because the site had drafts and anonymous or orphaned fics linked to their og authors, all things that weren't either shared online and that you can only get directly from AO3 bs it's private

The fact that Ao3 also went down recently as this rose up is enough to get my brain thinking conspiratorily.
That and an AI scrapper trying to steal emails with a fake version of Ao3 while it's down after a concentrated attack.
