when doing hashtags its considerate to write them in CamelCase (#LikeThis) so that they are readable by screenreaders

Fun #accessibility tip: when you're writing a hashtag with multiple words, using camel case (CaptalisingEachWordInThePhrase) not only makes it more legible to screenreaders, it also prevents potential misreading when people see it.

yeah this is the one that fucks up screenreaders as well, hopefully they can fix that (although there's no indication so far that they care)

just a reminder that using fancy fonts looks cool but they aren't accessible! they are separate unicode characters, which means the words will be processed incorrectly by screenreaders (either skipped or read out as the unicode description).
they're also not picked up by the mute word function!

99.9% of the time, the voice that you hear is not AI, it's a screenreader. For example, you know that masculine voice when you call CVS that goes "Thank you for calling CVS Pharmacy". That's one of the alternate voices for JAWS, one of the most common screenreaders available on the market.
