I have officially started properly scripting the next Big Finish.

scripting branch logic in Ren'Py, and writing 50,000-word narratives were essentially told, "Good luck finding an audience on our front page unless you bring every single click from outside."

Probably gonna log off for the day and try to power through scripting 10 pages of my next GN. Really not in the mood for breathless Election Day updates.

Come get me when the "I've Seen Enough" guy posts.

And the use of *engaged* rather than ‘encountered’ indicates he expects immediate combat. Lovely scripting nuance.
For me, the first 25 seconds of this clip are the most electrifying seconds of TNG. I couldn't guess how many times I've seen it, but Stewart's delivery gives me shivers down my spine every time: youtu.be/u8A-SIfD0IU?...

my process for scripting comic chapters has really changed since 2019. I used to have a paragraph outline and then script page by page #comic #comics #webcomic #artsky #artisttips #scripting #outlining

See my process continued in next post

On today, the 100th anniversary of Harry Houdini’s death, I failed to escape work and started scripting a graphic novel about Harry Houdini.

Haven't used Verse in a few years, has it gotten now to a comparable standard to UE's C++?

I also really don't think it's a replacement for visual scripting; completely different workflow. Node pushers have the 'we don't want to look at code' adoption barrier that won't go away.

Damn this scripting shit is EASY

This fortnight's progress on Toy & ToyBox:

* Repos are private, use the github mirrors from now on
* Wrote Sprite, AASquare and Character modules
* Simple character movement and collision implemented in C

Slow progress this time, but still progress.

oh it is yeah. no scripting

Most of the things they did are things they’ve done before so it might be mostly human scripting, but, the big firms all seem convinced it was AI driven

like i managed to bang out a bunch of comic scripting despite my terminal tummyache. a win 🙏🏻

Yeah, I goofed. Orchestrator is the new standard for visual scripting now and surpasses the old framework in a lot of ways godotengine.org/asset-librar...

Resonite. It's like VRChat but with an actual scripting system and developers that don't actively ignore the community.

Or go to Godot, of course, but I can't do text based programming and their visual scripting isn't quite there yet I've heard

2 AM, and my sleep schedule is so messed up that I'm doing all the things in the middle of the night.

Grocery shopping, scripting, laundry, workouts, everything at "0-dark-30".

And I'm not even tired right now so we keep pushing 'till dawn....

Yeah, I think there's something in this for sure. A decade ago I was a writer embedded with a team of AI engineers in the early days of chatbot scripting and it was deeply unsettling to confront the total disconnect between engineering language and actual human language.

I've done marker sponsorships before (am scripting one right now in fact) and the way I would have committed homicide for these prices as a youth. In HS I had to BEG for Copics for Christmas, and a 36-set was HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS.

Now you can get 300+ sets for <$1/marker

an open source unreal alternative with the same blueprints/visual scripting would be great...

I've been using fastmail for about three years now, I love it. Even comes with a builtin static web host (no server side scripting allowed), which is really handy!
