Funny. It felt like procedure. Like something practiced. Like "discarding your body" was something one did on a cheeky Saturday after the sun had set.

You were afraid of "being afraid". That, despite years of contemplating, you'd back out at the last second.

The”bird flu” may end up not being significant or it may become a pandemic. In the article below researchers describe how this virus impacts the brain! We need a serious science based head of Health & Human Services! Not RFK jr. who does not believe in vaccines!

This strain of H5N1 appears to be especially vicious. Think 1918 pandemic. It’s one mutation away from establishing in humans. Our first line of defense is protecting ag and processing workers. The neurotropic aspect of this virus is extremely troubling.

Outdoor cats are a potential bridge between wild bird strains of H5N1 and humans, given the mix of receptor types (SA alpha 2,3-Gal and SA alpha 2,6-Gal) found in cat tissues. The tropism toward brain tissue in cats is also concerning. www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

And this paper on autopsies of cats that have died from H5N1 show the virus is highly pathogenic in cats. A mountain lion and cheetah have also succumbed to the virus in California.

Great. As if #feralcats weren’t a bog enough problem in Australia.
Now it seems they could be important hosts for ‘reassortment of avian and mammalian influenza viruses’.

Domestic cats might serve as "mixing vessels" allowing mutation of #H5N1 into a more transmissible form. U of Pittsburgh study suggests cats infected w/ #birdflu & seasonal flu could spawn a strain that spreads among humans. Dairy farm cats get easily infected w/#H5N1 www.nytimes.com/2024/12/11/h...

🧵Experts are concerned that domestic #cats may become a reservoir of infection to humans. Further evolution and possible reassortment between cow and bird clades of #H5N1 within cat populations is a real possibility. Then owners & veterinarians interact with cats.

What could go wrong?🤔
