Alucard 1 vs Alucard 2. Did these 5 weeks apart as part of a mentorship program. Thinking of making one of them a print.

Charley Toorop (Netherlandish, 1891 - 1955) • Self-Portrait Against a Wall • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam, Netherlands #arthistory #CharleyToorop #womanartist #20thCenturyArt #oilpainting #self-portrait #Self-taughtArtist #painting #art #NetherlandishArtist
Charley Toorop was 34 when she painted this self portrait. She has portrayed herself as a confident woman. She was then the mother of three children, separated from their father and busy building a career as a painter. She had just found her definitive style – a straightforward realism with powerful accents and this is her first self portrait in this manner. – Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen
