Visiting Sensouji Temple
The community, headed up by Soto Zen priest and former Buddhadharma editor Koun Franz — will be officially installing Franz as the abbot of its temple, Sensouji (pictured)
Nova Scotia's Thousand Harbours Zen to hold historic ceremonies June 21 & 22
The community's temple, Sensouji, will be the first in Canada to hold these ceremonies, which will be attended in person by about twenty Soto Zen priests from Canada, the US, and Japan.

Heute war ich im Sensō-ji in Asakusa. Eigentlich wollte ich zum Kaiserpalast, aber da angekommen musste ich feststellen, dass dieser Freitags und Montags geschlossen ist. Also bin ich stattdessen zum Sensō-ji.

Sensouji was packed solid, way more people than I expected and I expected a lot. We got lunch at the stalls there for the fun of that.
Currently at Ueno even though nothing is open there on Mondays because I mentioned the surprising cute samurai statue so we're stopping off to look at that.

I've now been to Sensouji. Man, what a place. The omikuji I got was 'best fortune'. Travel partner forgot to donate first and ended up with 'bad fortune'.

I mean this beats all my pictures of the strip outside Sensouji. I think we bought my wife some chopsticks there that my dog chewed to bits. Now I want to know if they ever sold this shirt there.

When it was time to head back, I ended up taking a different route. This may have been a mistake as I ran straight into Sensouji temple...one of the biggest tourist attractions in Asakusa. Even with the rain it was pretty crowded but I was able to get a few photos while I was there.
