What if de novo peptide sequencing uses a proteome as a guide without being constrained by it?

Unlike DB search, PepPr, a peptide language model improves variant peptide identification and enhances AB sequencing hypervariable regions.

PepPr: De Novo peptide sequencing with peptide priors
Mass spectrometry-based peptide sequencing underpins proteomics. Database search confines to predefined candidates, whereas de novo peptide sequencing (DNPS) struggles with incomplete spectra. Existin...

Sequencing is a helluva psychological phenomenon
Enough with the doom and gloom, Brewers fans. If I told you in September we'd be up 3-1 in the World Series with Miz on the mound to clinch - every one of you would take it.

Maybe because the UK learnt as times and attitudes changed and they contributed to the world.

Vaccines, Antibiotics, DNA sequencing, Railroads, radar, jet engines, turboprops, crusade against slavery.

Russia is stuck in the past, doesn't evolve.

While authors assert they carved a pumpkin, they fail to provide support for this claim. Please include DNA sequencing results to confirm gourd identity.

Nature research paper: Rare and common genetic variants shape single-cell immune gene expression

Rare and common genetic variants shape single-cell immune gene expression - Nature
Phase 1 of TenK10K takes single-cell RNA sequencing and matched whole-genome sequencing data from 1,925 individuals, enabling detection of associations for common and rare genetic variants, the latter of which have been uncharacterized in their impact on cell-specific gene expression.

When sequencing with @plasmidsaurus.bsky.social, I will always spend the extra money for premium (ligation) sequencing. One consensus sequence often can't tell the whole story!
A few months ago my Dad brought a bad cold home from a cruise. I thought I might find an unusual virus, but the PCR said just Rhinovirus. But when I sequenced it I found something I'd never seen before - a 70/30 co-infection of HRV-B and HRV-C! So two different Rhinovirus species at once!

The authors have posted a reply. I havent reviewed it in full. But they claim a 'bulk upload' error with GISAID.

Yes agreed that would be an incredibly difficult study to run. Probably impossible to accurately measure effect even with sequencing and similar.
