Yes. Advaita Vedanta and Kashmir Shaivism have both played an important role on my path.

Make sense in that they are just picking a random set of beliefs that their actions do not align with in any perceivable way.

Why don’t they just profess Shaivism?

Masculine as pure awareness
Feminine as pure power or potential

The creative “tension” is this: the awareness of potential, and the potentiality of awareness. It is the primordial sound of silence out of which the universe is formed.

In Kashmir Shaivism, this is referred to as Spanda.

get these bad boys some meister eckhart, a little kashmiri shaivism, throw in some shit about rivers and flow, put a couple wheels in front of them, and whoopsie daisy turns out there really is some overarching explanation for why such similarities sprang up in extremely broad geographic regions

esoteric buddhism might have been a bigger source of indianization flow to the philippines than pure shaivism (which, in truth, at around 900AD, would've been deeply connected with mantrayana buddhism through tantric innovation)

there's a degree of tribal particularism in several of the socially marginalized post-AA faiths - judaism, shaivism, sikhism - but this is historically contingent and exists in a sort of uneasy tension with their own theology, which imagines peace and ease for all the creatures the world immiserates

i've only really read madhyamaka+chan, but in the same general bucket imo:

- daoism
- kashmir shaivism
- sufism
- apophatic christianity (eckhart)
- Whitehead's philosophy

all approach nondualism, relationalism, processualism, nonfoundationalism, differing by type of commitments and... vibes. lol.

Muktananda worshipped the formless. Many of his devotees say so. Form is a kind of ego. Form is a contraction of Shakti, which is ego.
Kashmir Shaivism
One of the cornerstones of the Siddha Yoga tradition, Kashmir Shaivism is a branch of the Shaivite philosophical tradition that explains how the formless supreme principle, known as Shiva, manifests t...
