You can really see how far printing has gotten. The chalky black one is the most expensive plastic shapeways produced circa 2012, the tan is brand new.

Gear replacement complete on this Italian 2-8-0 for a friend. The replacement gear was designed in Fusion 360 and printed by shapeways in a tough slightly elastic resin, seems to have worked a treat!

Anyone who loves RID 2001 Optimus Prime probably doesn’t have the tires any longer because the rubber cracked. I got a shapeways 3D print a few years ago that looked ok, but it was plastic. Recently I found this set on Etsy that are real rubber reproductions.
